Our first ever winter Countryside Classroom Days was held on the Ledston Estate on 1, 2 and 3 December with a Christmas/Nature Theme. The event was fully booked and the weather was reasonably kind. The children did a range of activities including a seasonal walk; making Rudolph or other animals out of clay; planting an acorn for the Queen’s Jubilee in 2022; making a robin Christmas card; learning about caring for birds in the winter and making a Christmas tree advent calendar. Our thanks to BASC and NGO Educational Trust for their help.
Some teacher comments below:
“Thank you for having us – we all really enjoyed it! We enjoyed all of the activities and we loved the half an hour slots – it kept the children very engaged for the whole day. We would definitely come back.”
“The workshops were all fantastic, the adults running were engaging and responded well to the children’s questions and queries. The facilities on site were clean and well managed. The children enjoyed themselves immensely and seemed to get lots from the sessions. We will be replicating some of the activities with our forest school coordinator in the next few weeks. Thank you for a super day, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”
We will be running another Countryside Classroom day at Ledston in the summer and dates for all CC venues around the country are being finalised now. Please look under the Events button for Countryside Classroom days.
